Trivium - The Crusade

The Crusade is the third album by thrash metal band Trivium which was released on October 10th, 2006 through Roadrunner Records. It is a drastic change from their previous album "Ascendancy", which is classified as metalcore.

Some of the songs off the album are about famous killings. For example, "Entrance of the Conflagration" is about Andrea Yates's murder of her five children, "Unrepentant" is about Nazir Ahmad's murder of his three daughters and stepdaughter,"Contempt Breeds Contamination" is about the death of Amadou Diallo, and "And Sadness Will Sear" is based upon the murder of Matthew Shepard.

In the UK, where much of Trivium's success was, the album was released on the 9th, a day early and was certified silver in the UK for sales in excess of 60,000 copies that same day.

Def Leppard - X

X is the tenth album by British hard rock band Def Leppard, released in 2002. Much like 1996's Slang, it featured another musical departure from their signature sound by moving into the pop genre. It was produced by the band with Pete Woodroffe.

The turn of the century saw a gradual revival of popularity of the band; in July 2001, VH1 aired a biopic, Hysteria - The Def Leppard Story, to record ratings. While 1999's Euphoria had been a moderate success, diehard fans commented that the album sounded overproduced and forced in an effort to sound like the Def Leppard of the 1980s.

Pop music had become the dominant format at Top 40 radio, and the band felt it was the perfect direction for their music. Under the tutelage of Mutt Lange, the band always displayed a clear taste for pop in their hard rock sound, and had featured more heavily on recent songs such as "Breathe A Sigh" and "All Night".

Pendulum - Hold Your Colour

Hold Your Colour is a 2005 drum and bass album by Pendulum. The album drew very positive critical attention in both Great Britain and Australia.

7 Angels 7 Plagues - Until the Day Breathes

Sweet Princess Thief 4. Until The Day Breathes And The Shadows Flee 5. A Farewell To A Perfect Score Every time i hear it, it almost brings me to tears. so much brutality and beauty make this cd amazing not to mention jared's nial driving druming. This short lived Metalcore band from Milwaukee, WI, was way ahead of their time. Members would later go on to later form Misery Signals and Ådriel. 7a7p just did a hand full of reunions, and my hopes are shooting for another record, cross your fingers. I recommend this cd for fans of, it dies today, bury your dead, bleeding through and remembering never. I miss you guys tons.

HIM - And Love Said

And Love Said No - The Greatest Hits 1997-2004 version of this album came with a DVD with six songs live at Semifinal Club in is HIM's first greatest hits album. It contains two unreleased songs: 'And Love Said No' and 'Solitary Man', the latter of which is a Neil Diamond cover. It also had a rerecorded version of 'When Love And Death Embrace' and the British version also had a rerecorded version of 'It's All Tears (Drown In This Love)'.

Tiamat - Discography

Initially, the band played straightforward death metal under the name Treblinka. They split up in 1989, leaving vocalist and guitarist Johan Edlund as the band's sole member. Edlund subsequently changed the name to Tiamat.

After Sumerian Cry (which was the first Tiamat album, but written while under the name Treblinka), Edlund's leadership modified the sound with moody, atmospheric textures and vocals that would attribute them (along with Samael and Rotting Christ) as one of the starters of dark metal and symphonic black metal.

1994's critically acclaimed Wildhoney mixed death growls, slow guitar riffs and synthesizer sounds which sounded different from other symphonic black metal bands active at that time. An almost continuous forty-minute piece of music, Wildhoney was considered to be a landmark release in the field of extreme metal, preceding many of the trends that would be repeated throughout the genre throughout the next decade.

Upon the release of A Deeper Kind of Slumber (1997), Edlund relocated from Sweden to Germany and declared himself the only permanent member of the band; all albums that would follow would cement the band into a more melodic sound, quite different from the extreme music they did in the years before, with recent albums showing a Sisters of Mercy influence.

The band is currently signed to Century Media Records.

Anathema Discography, Biography

Anathema was formed in the year of 1990 under the name of Pagan Angel and in November of that year, the band recorded their first demo, entitled An Iliad of Woes. The switching of names occurred at the beginning of 1991.

Their initial demo caught the attention of a couple of bands from the English metal scene and Anathema then began to play gigs with bands such as Bolt Thrower and Paradise Lost.

The band gained a lot of attention with the release of their second demo - entitled All Faith Is Lost - which landed Anathema a four-album deal with Peaceville Records. Their first release under the label was The Crestfallen EP in November 1992. With the material from that album, the band toured with Cannibal Corpse.

Serenades - Anathema's debut LP - attracted a lot of mainstream attention. A music video for the track "Sweet Tears" even received some airplay from MTV.

1994 was the year of Anathema's first European tour, which was closely followed by gigs in the Independent Rock Festival in Brazil.

In May of 1995, vocalist Darren White quit the band, eventually forming The Blood Divine. Rather than recruiting a new vocalist, the band decided that guitarist Vincent Cavanagh should assume the vocals. This new formation debuted by touring with Cathedral in the UK.

Later that year, the band released The Silent Enigma, which was a turning point in their career. The album incorporated changes in the vocal style and introduced much heavier goth elements. Most fans of the band's original style consider this album the beginning of Anathema's metaphorical downfall.

1996 saw the release of Eternity, which relied more on atmospheric sounds and started the transition to clean vocals, which would be consolidated later in Judgement. A European tour followed.

The second member to leave the band was drummer John Douglas in the summer of 1997. He was replaced by the ex-drummer of Solstice - Shaun Taylor-Steels - who would also later play drums for My Dying Bride.

Alternative 4 was released in 1998. During this time the band underwent many line-up changes. Bassist Duncan Patterson quit due to musical differences and was replaced by Dave Pybus of Dreambreed, where Duncan had played bass for a short period. Martin Powell (who had played keyboards and violin for My Dying Bride previously) also joined the band. Finally, John Douglas assumed the drummer position for the second time.

In June of 1999, the album Judgement was released. This album marks Anathema's complete shift from the doom metal genre, focusing instead on slower and more experimental songs. This new sound has been likened to artists such as Pink Floyd, Jeff Buckley, and, to a lesser extent, Radiohead. However, the essence of the band was kept, as their songs continued to express a feeling of depression and more often than not desperation.

During the same year, Martin Powell switched positions with Cradle of Filth's keyboardist Les Smith, who became an integral member of Anathema.

Shortly before the release of A Fine Day to Exit, Dave Pybus announced his departure from the band and later joined - ironically - Cradle of Filth. He was replaced by touring bassist George Roberts, and later by Jamie Cavanagh.

In March of 2002, Daniel Cavanagh announced his departure from the band, joining Duncan Patterson's band Antimatter. However, he later rejoined Anathema in 2003 for the release of A Natural Disaster, and started their European Tour. Since then, Anathema's sound has acquired an atmospheric and progressive tone, as exhibited in album tracks 'Flying' and 'Violence'.

Due to the closing of their label Music for Nations after its purchase by media behemoth Sony BMG, Anathema's currently find themselves without a record label despite having completed an extensive tour of the UK with popular Finnish rock band HIM in April 2006, which undoubtedly won them many fans. During their search for a new label, the band have adopted a more 'DIY' approach to music release, embracing the internet and releasing songs via their own website, for which fans donate a sum of their own choice. Despite the obvious lack of label-based tour support, the band continues to play dates across Europe, guitarist Danny Cavanagh also playing the odd low-key acoustic concert.

Aerosmith - Done With Mirrors

Done with Mirrors (1985) is the eighth studio album by American hard rock band Aerosmith, and marked the return of Joe Perry and Brad Whitford to the fold. It was also their first album released by Geffen Records. It was intended as their "comeback" album, but it didn't live up to commercial expectations. In keeping with the title, all the text on the album, except for a copyright notice, was written back-to-front and could be read normally by holding it up to a mirror. More recent CD pressings flip all of the artwork so it can be read without a mirror.

Twisted Sister - Still Hungry

Still Hungry, released in 2004, was a re-recording of the 1984 album Stay Hungry released by heavy metal band Twisted Sister.
Much to the annoyance of the original producer, Twister Sister have re-recorded and re-released the album "Stay Hungry".
The band felt the original was too "radio friendly" for their tastes , So they needed to Re-record a harder edged version.
What has resulted is much rawer and grittier versions of the original tunes.
One does have to wonder if either 'We're not gonna take it' and 'I wanna rock' would've been as huge in the form they are on here.

Kiss - Killers (1982)

Killers is a greatest hits album by American hard rock group KISS. The album was originally released only outside the United States, but quickly became available as an import. Of the twelve songs on Killers, four were new compositions recorded specifically for the album. These new songs were recorded at the behest of Phonogram Records in response to the commercial failure of 1981's Music from "The Elder".

Therapy - Troublegum

Troublegum, released February 7, 1994 was the second major label album by the band Therapy?. It had a dark, metal-like punk sound while remaining melodic, which fitted in well with the grunge scene, which was still popular at the time. This remains many people's favorite Therapy? album, and even today, more than ten years after its release, it contributes the majority of their live sets.
Another great album, don't miss this one!

Lamb of god - Sacrament

Sacrament is the title of American metal band Lamb of God's sixth and most recent studio album (fourth under the name Lamb of God), released on August 22, 2006. The album in its entirety was leaked to P2P file sharing networks approximately one week prior to the album's release. Sacrament debuted at number #8 on the Billboard 200 charts.

With 57 million albums sold in the United States alone and 35 million albums sold outside the U.S., the band has sold just over 90 million albums, making them one of the most commercially successful heavy metal acts in history.

Metallica is credited, along with the other of the "big four" thrash metal bands, Megadeth, Slayer, and Anthrax, with bringing the genre to mainstream America.

AC/DC - Let there be Rock

Let There Be Rock is the fourth studio album by Australian hard rock band AC/DC, released in March 1977. All songs were written by Angus Young, Malcolm Young, and Bon Scott.

Let There Be Rock increased AC/DC's popularity to new heights. The group traded in its thick sounding riffs for a raw, dirty sound, producing such hits as the title track, "Whole Lotta Rosie," "Hell Ain't a Bad Place to Be," and others. Furthermore, an air of seriousness absent on other AC/DC records gives this album a different feel. Today it is considered one of their best albums. Let There Be Rock was also the last AC/DC recording to feature bassist Mark Evans, who previously played on T.N.T. (1975) and Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap (1976).

Rammstein - Rosenrot

Rosenrot is the German metal band Rammstein's fifth musical album. It was released on October 28, 2005 in Germany, December 6, 2005 in Canada, and March 28, 2006 in the U.S. A limited edition with a bonus DVD is also available.

The album includes six unreleased songs from Reise, Reise that had been omitted for artistic reasons, and five completely new ones. It was originally going to be titled Reise, Reise Volume Two, but on August 18, 2005 the album was announced as Rosenrot.

While Rammstein did not actively promote this album, the band built anticipation through a variety of means. The first single from the album, "Benzin", premiered at the Berliner Wuhlheide and has been subsequently released. Rammstein's official website features one-minute samples from six of the album's songs, and had featured a prominent release-date countdown. A brief section of the chorus from "Rosenrot" plays in the background of an e-card containing photographs of the band and basic album information.

Children of Bodom - Hate Crew Deathroll

Hate Crew Deathroll is the Finnish melodic death metal band Children of Bodom's fourth album, which was released under the Century Media label. This is the last album on which guitarist Alexander Kuoppala plays. It obtained success in Europe and also in the USA, after the appearance of the "Needled 24/7" music video on MTV2's Headbanger's Ball.

This showed the band's sound becoming more streamlined and a bit simpler, more power metal and classic metal oriented than on previous albums. The keyboards were a bit more toned down as the guitars took hold as the more predominant instrument.

Amon Amarth - With Oden On Our Side

With Oden on Our Side is the sixth full-length album released by the melodic death metal band Amon Amarth. It was recorded in May and June of 2006 and was released in Europe on September 22, 2006. A limited edition release was also made which has a second disc that includes live songs, demos and unreleased recordings. The song Runes to my Memory was made into a music video. It is the only song on the album so far to have a music video. The album takes on a heavier approach compared to their previous album Fate of Norns, with almost death metal sections. On the other hand, tracks such as "Valhall Awaits Me" and "Cry of the Black Birds" demonstrate a use of syncopation, arpeggio, and melody reminiscent of recent releases from Gothenburg melodic death metal groups such as Dark Tranquillity.

Black Sabbath - Master Of Reality

Because the Los Angeles-based Masters of Reality took their name from the title of a scorching Black Sabbath album, some assumed they were a heavy metal band. But in fact, their forte is a bluesy approach with a late-1960s/early-'70s type of appeal. Though subtle traces of Sabbath can occasionally be heard on a few of their songs, their sound owes a lot more to Ten Years After and the Doors. First released by Def American in 1989 and reissued by Delicious Vinyl in 1990, this impressive offering was produced by Rick Rubin and has the markings of a Rubin production. The thing that makes Rubin so great a producer is his willingness to follow his gut instincts, an approach has served him well whether producing Slayer, Johnny Cash, or L.L. Cool J, and one that clearly works to the Masters' advantage on such pearls as "Domino," "Gettin' High," and "The Eyes of Texas." Rubin is the type of producer who knows how to step aside when appropriate and let artists be themselves. Under his direction, the material sounds well produced, but never over-produced. by Alex Henderson Allmusic.

Judas Priest - Killing Machine

Demolition is British heavy metal band Judas Priest's 14th studio album. It is the second and final studio album to feature Tim 'Ripper' Owens on vocals. Following the lukewarm reception to Jugulator, the band scrambled to assess what exactly went wrong and determined that fans preferred a sound more faithful to Priest's back catalogue. The resulting album would be an amalgam of Jugulator-style riffs, references to 80s Priest, and sporadic nu-metal additions such as quasi-rapping, samples, and industrial-style beats. While the ostensible aim was to offer something for every possible fan, in the end, the album received an even poorer reception than Jugulator by most fans and would result in the eventual reunion of classic lineup.

Judas Priest - Ram It Down

Ram It Down was an album recorded and released by Judas Priest in 1988. The album was remastered in 2001, with two live tracks added.

In 1986, Priest intended to record a double album called Twin Turbos of which half would be lighter, more commercial rock, and the other half would be similarly polished but heavier and less synth-driven. As it happened, record labels being notoriously timid about double albums, the project was split into two releases, with the heavier Twin Turbos material being relegated to this later album. While it largely failed to capture the metal public's approval, elements such as the more technical drumming, high speeds, and sci-fi themes prefigured their return-to-form classic, Painkiller. Judas Priest had also done a rendition of Chuck Berry's Johnny B. Goode, which was the only single from this album. This would be the final album with long-time drummer Dave Holland.

Judas Priest - Point Of Entry

Point of Entry is a heavy metal album from the band Judas Priest. It was released on February 26, 1981 . In 1980 Judas Priest garnered some airplay with "Breaking the Law" and "Living After Midnight" from their album British Steel. As a result the band pursued a more radio friendly direction on Point of Entry. The more blatant commercial direction alienated some longtime listeners. The album was remastered in 2001, with two bonus tracks added. While most fans considered it bland to their previous British Steel album, It still was a classic among their albums, With 3 singles to go with it. Heading Out To The Highway, Don't Go & Hot Rockin' were their best tracks off of this album for they performed Heading Out To The Highway up until their "Priest...Live!" album. & "Hot Rockin'" is still performed today.

Melvins - Stoner Witch

The early to mid-'90s proved the Melvins' golden age, and the three principal albums from that period -- Stoner Witch provides the centerpiece -- are virtually unassailable in their range, depth, power, and experimental courage. Picking up on the basic framework of Houdini, Stoner Witch resolves into an ear-catching workup of classic rock themes, tempered, of course, with a fairly judicious sampling of acid-trip detours. Where Houdini resided more in an expansive -- though lugubriously heavy -- metal vein, refining the techniques built up through the band's early struggles, Stoner Witch truly showcases the band at the apex of their wide-ranging creative abilities. The melodies -- yes, melodies -- work seamlessly with the ubiquitous chugging riffs; Buzzo's vocals, often reminiscent of a David Thomas (Pere Ubu) after a few weeks of no-nonsense boot camp, are sometimes quiet and reflective, and more often than not, positively Stentorian. And naturally, drummer Dale Crover's percussion and pounding behind the kit is astonishing, powerful, and daring. The album opens with the distorted thud of "Skweetis," the amps and cymbals washing well into red-line territory before yielding to a three-count of heavy-duty classic rock with "Queen," "Sweet Willy Rollbar," and "Revolve." From that point on, there is a deliberate sea-change, beginning with the faux-lounge tweaking of "Goose Freight Train," the nearly unlistenable Merzbow-noise of "Magic Pig Detective," and ultimately the hammer-down hardcore of "June Bug" sandwiched between two ambient tracks: "Shevil" and the album closer, "Lividity."

Death Angel - Act III

Act III was the third album by the thrash metal band Death Angel, released in 1990 on Geffen Records. Regarded by many critics and fans as the band's finest effort, the album was produced by famed metal producer Max Norman (Megadeth), and marked the first (and only) major label release by Death Angel. The album spawned the singles "Seemingly Endless Time" and "A Room with a View", with both songs receiving music videos and airplay on MTV's Headbangers Ball.

On tour in support of Act III in 1991, the band suffered a serious tour bus crash in which drummer Andy Galleon was critically injured. During his year long recovery, singer Mark Osegueda left the band, effectively ending Death Angel. In 2001, the band reunited for Testament singer Chuck Billy's Thrash of the Titans benefit concert (minus Gus Pepa) and went on to release The Art of Dying in 2004.

Burzum - Hlidskjalf

Hliðskjálf (in English, Hidden Opening Into Asgard or Secret Ritual-Site) is an album by Norwegian black metal solo project Burzum. This album in particular was recorded by Burzum artist Varg Vikernes while he was imprisoned for murder and arson and features only keyboard and synthesized instruments in attempt to distance Burzum from the black metal scene of which it was prominent.

Vikernes has said that he will no longer make music, at least under the name Burzum, making Hliðskjálf likely to be the final Burzum album. However, in a May 2005 interview, Varg said he will most likely continue to make music after his release in a typical metal style. He also mentioned that Dauði Baldrs and Hliðskjálf were created with synthesized instruments as he was not allowed any other instruments while being imprisoned. Previously it was believed he had moved to these piano-based instruments as a means to compose traditional Aryan music.

Ministry - The Land Of Rape And Honey

Hey, definitely it's the best Ministry record ever made, don't miss out this one!

The Land of Rape and Honey is an album by the industrial band Ministry. The album was released in 1988 through Sire Records. The album reached No. 164 on "The Billboard magazine 200" chart. The image on the cover is the head of a dead body lying on the ground.

The album title comes from the slogan on a mug from Tisdale, Saskatchewan, whose motto is "The Land of Rape and Honey", the local economy being based on the agricultural products rapeseed and honey.

Van Halen - Diver Down

Diver Down is the fifth album by American hard rock band Van Halen, released in 1982 (see 1982 in music). According to www.van-halen.com it spent 65 weeks on the US album charts and had, by 1998, sold 4 million copies in the United States.

The album cover displays the "diver down" flag used in maritime signaling to indicate a diver is currently submerged in the area, and caution is advised to nearby boats. Asked about the cover in a 1982 interview with Sylvie Simmons (Sounds, June 23, 1982), David Lee Roth said it was meant to imply that "there was something going on that's not apparent to your eyes. You put up the red flag with the white slash. Well, a lot of people approach Van Halen as sort of the abyss. It means, its not immediately apparent to your eyes what is going on underneath the surface."

Judas Priest - Painkiller

Painkiller is a 1990 gold-certifed album of British heavy metal band Judas Priest. The album was recorded at Miraval Studios, Brignoles, France in early 1990, and mixed at Wisseloord Studios, Hilversum, the Netherlands later that year. The original LP, cassette and CD versions were released on September 3, 1990. A re-mastered CD was released in May 2001. The album received a Grammy nomination for Best Metal Performance at the February 20, 1991 33rd Annual Grammy Awards.

Following the poor sales of the album Ram it Down which was itself an attempt at reconciling with the public over the perceived sellout, Turbo, Judas Priest returned to their classic 70s style while borrowing contemporary speed metal techniques resulting in their most critically acclaimed album in a decade. The album is viewed by some as the quintessential speed metal album and the style proved highly influential to European power metal bands such as Gamma Ray and Primal Fear.

Judas Priest - Turbo

Turbo is the 11th album by British heavy metal band Judas Priest. The album was recorded at Compass Point Studios in Nassau, Bahamas and mixed January - February 1986 at Record Plant Studios in Los Angeles, California. Fist released on April 15, 1986. A re-mastered CD was released in 2002, which added two bonus tracks. The album marked the band's first use of guitar synthesizers, which contributed to its unique sound.

Following the success of their previous album, Defenders of the Faith, Priest were at the peak of their popularity and pressure from the record labels to sell ever more records led to the creation of an album called "Twin Turbos" which was never released. Instead the material was split, with the more commercial songs appearing on Turbo. While it sold well initially, going Gold (RIAA) on June 10, 1986 and Platinum on July 24, 1987 and reaching #33 in the UK and #17 on Billboard 200, the reaction from fans was negative. Sales tapered off and the live album from the subsequent tour tanked.

Iron Maiden - Somewhere In Time

Somewhere in Time is the sixth studio album by British heavy metal band Iron Maiden, released on 29 September 1986. The studio follow-up to the hugely successful Powerslave/Live After Death pair, it was the first Iron Maiden album to feature guitar synths. Bruce Dickinson's song material was refused in favour of the songs of guitarist Adrian Smith, who wrote the bulk of the songs identified with the album (including the singles "Wasted Years" and "Stranger in a Strange Land ").

Most of the songs from Somewhere in Time have disappeared from the band's live shows throughout the years, though "Wasted Years" and "Heaven Can Wait" have been consistently performed. In addition, performances of "Heaven Can Wait" have always featured a group of local fans and celebrities invited onstage to sing along during the song's middle section.

In Flames - Colony

Colony is a melodic death metal album by In Flames. It was released on June 22, 1999 through Nuclear Blast. It was the first album to feature the current lineup of the band. The album deals with various aspects of religion and spirituality, from the somewhat positive light of "Embody the Invisible" and "The New Word," to the more negative "Zombie Inc." and "Scorn". This album features a faster, tighter, and more energetic approach to the music than displayed on the previous album Whoracle, though the song-writing approach is similar.

The tracks "Behind Space '99" and "Clad in Shadows '99" are remakes of tracks off the first album Lunar Strain, with the "Behind Space" remake devoid of the acoustic guitar outro.

Slipknot - Slipknot

Slipknot is the second album (Mate.Feed.Kill.Repeat is their first, but was released independently) by musical band Slipknot, considered by most critics a nu metal album. The album was released on June 29, 1999 by Roadrunner Records. A digipak version was released on March 7, 2000, followed by a "Clean" version (with swear words dubbed out) on March 14; the digipak was re-released on August 9.

The cover of the album simply shows the band members in their masks and boilersuits: the anti image for which the band would become famous.

In 2001 Q magazine named Slipknot as one of the 50 Heaviest Albums Of All Time.

Underoath - Define the Great Line (2006)

Define the Great Line is the fifth album by the Florida-based post-hardcore band Underoath. It was released in the United States on June 20th, 2006. There is also a limited edition version of the album featuring exclusive artwork and a DVD which includes a short film on the making of the album as well as a first-hand account of a man's UFO encounter.

Shadows Fall - War Within

The record's title reflects a period of intense introspection by the band's vocalist Brian Fair, during which he faced various "demons" from his past which had been a source of regret.

The song "Inspiration On Demand" was written about Fair's battle to find musical creativity whilst under pressure to achieve commercial success.
The song "What Drives The Weak" was used as a track on the Projekt Revolution sampler CD given out for becoming a member of the Linkin Park Underground 4.0, Linkin Park's fan club (also called LPU).
The Japanese version includes a cover of "Teasn Pleasn" by Dangerous Toys.
"The Light The Blinds" is also featured as a BONUS track on the hit Playstation 2 game, Guitar Hero 2.

Shadows Fall - Of One Blood

Of One Blood is the second album by American thrash metal band Shadows Fall. On this release, the band improved the sometimes muddy and ill-defined production of their debut, Somber Eyes to the Sky. They also introduced more melody into the songwriting, and incorporated the balance of clean and death grunt style vocals.

Katatonia - My Twin EP

Dark Angel - Leave Scars

Leave Scars is the third album by Dark Angel, which was released in 1989.
Dark Angel (also known as DFA or Dark Fuckin' Angel is a thrash metal band from Los Angeles. Their over-the-top style (extremely fast, heavy and lengthy songs with lots of tempo changes, lyrics and extended instrumental parts) earned them the nickname "the L.A. Caffeine Machine" and the motto "too fast, my ass".

Judas Priest - Sin After Sin

Sin After Sin is the third album by the British heavy metal group Judas Priest, released in 1977. The album was remastered in 2001, with two bonus tracks added. This album featured the drum work of a very young and upcoming session drummer, Simon Phillips, who was only 19 at the time of recording. The record features a cover of Joan Baez's "Diamonds and Rust", a track that would become a live favourite from then onwards. In 1988, Slayer covered the song Dissident Aggressor on their critically acclaimed South of Heaven album. One of the bonus tracks "Race With The Devil" was at first intended to take the place of "Diamonds & Rust" but their producer, Roger Glover, wanted them to switch to "Diamonds & Rust" Saying that "It would fit along with the rest of the album better."

It is said that this album was supposed to be called "Island Of Domination" after the song off of "Sad Wings Of Destiny" with a re-made version of "Island of Domination" as the title track, but they decided to call it "Sin After Sin" because of the popularity of the song "Sinner".

Iron Maiden - Piece Of Mind

Piece of Mind is the fourth studio album by British heavy metal band Iron Maiden. It was originally released in 1983 (see 1983 in music) on Capitol in the US and later re-issued on Sanctuary/Columbia in the US whilst released on EMI elsewhere. It was the first album to feature drummer Nicko McBrain.

Lyrically, the album reflected the group's interest in books and film. For example, "To Tame a Land" is based on Frank Herbert's novel Dune, "The Trooper" is inspired by Tennyson's Charge of the Light Brigade. Other inspirations include "Where Eagles Dare", a film, and a novel by Alistair MacLean; "Quest for Fire"; the hymn writer G.K. Chesterton who is quoted at the beginning of "Revelations". More exotic influences include Greek mythology, albeit slightly altered for "Flight of Icarus", and samurai legend Miyamoto Musashi ("Sun and Steel"). Aleister Crowley influenced a good piece of the remaining lyrics of "Revelations," which was written by Dickinson.

Iron Maiden - No Prayer for The Dying

No Prayer for the Dying is the eighth studio album by the British heavy metal band Iron Maiden. It is the first album recorded since the departure of guitarist Adrian Smith from the band after the 1988 album Seventh Son of a Seventh Son (though he co-wrote one of the songs on this album). The album ushered in a change of vocal style for Bruce Dickinson from the operatic sound of the '80s to a raspier way of singing, and also produced Maiden's only number one single to date, "Bring Your Daughter... ...To the Slaughter".

Smith was replaced by Janick Gers who had assisted Bruce in the recording of his first solo-album, Tattooed Millionaire, which he was inspired to make when asked to write the song "Bring Your Daughter... ...To the Slaughter" and was released the same year. The song however was not included in the album (though it did feature amongst the bonus-material in the 2005 expanded edition) so Iron Maiden recorded a new version of it.

Marilyn Manson - Antichrist Superstar

Antichrist Superstar (written Antichrist Svperstar in several places as an allusion to Latin) is Marilyn Manson's second full-length studio release and was released in 1996. The album raised awareness of the band, and led to numerous protests due to the band's perceived anti-Christian stance. It was produced by the band's leader Manson and Nine Inch Nails frontman Trent Reznor.

The album can be considered a concept album; it follows a three part storyline, which tells the story of an abused and apathetic person (metaphorized as "The Worm") who is attracted to a self-abusive rock star, and a resulting transformation into a new, destructive character known as "The Disintegrator". In an issue of Kerrang! magazine edited by Manson, he stated that the album was a tribute to - and inspired by - the philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche. Yet much of the album is deliberately vague, allowing listeners to draw their own conclusions.

Marilyn Manson - Smells Like Children

Smells Like Children is a 1995 album by industrial metal band Marilyn Manson. Although initially intended to be a remix EP, various contributions by engineer and Skinny Puppy producer Dave Ogilvie, Nine Inch Nails keyboardist Charlie Clouser and new material by the band resulted in an eclectic combination of material. The album was produced by Trent Reznor and Marilyn Manson.

A number of covers are included on the album, most famous of which is the band's cover of Eurythmics' "Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This)", which skyrocketed the band into the mainstream. The other covers on the album are the Patti Smith song, "Rock'n'Roll Nigger" and the Screamin' Jay Hawkins song, "I Put a Spell on You." Manson's recording of "I Put a Spell on You" also featured in the David Lynch film Lost Highway.

Marilyn Manson- Portrait of an American Family

Portrait of an American Family is Marilyn Manson's debut album, released in 1994. As on the band's next two releases, Trent Reznor was a producer.

Iron Maiden - Powerslave

Powerslave is the fifth studio album by the heavy metal band Iron Maiden, released on 3 September 1984. It is notable for its Egyptian theme displayed in the album art. It contains a musical re-telling of Samuel Taylor Coleridge's "Rime of the Ancient Mariner", which uses pieces of the original poem as lyrics, and is the longest song Iron Maiden have ever recorded. The album is also notable amongst the band's albums as being the first album to feature the same lineup as the previous one. As of 2006, this is the last of the band's albums to contain an instrumental track.

"2 Minutes to Midnight" and "Aces High" were released as singles.

The 1995 re-release contains a bonus disc, which contains the b-sides of the original singles.

On the 1998 remastered re-release, the songs "Back in the Village" and "Powerslave" were separated in the wrong place, with the intro of "Powerslave" accidentally being attached to the end of "Back in the Village".
